The first team to four wins lifts the Stanley Cup. Home-ice advantage goes to the finalist with the better regular-season points total, using the 2-2-1-1-1 home/road pattern.
Road to the Final
Sixteen teams qualify for the playoffs and advance through three best-of-seven rounds — First Round, Second Round and Conference Finals — before the two conference champions meet for the Cup.
Conn Smythe Trophy
The Conn Smythe Trophy is awarded to the most valuable player of the entire playoffs, voted by the Professional Hockey Writers Association.
