F1 2026 season
The 2026 Formula One World Championship marks the biggest rule change in a generation. New regulations introduce redesigned cars with active aerodynamics, lighter chassis, and all-new power units running on 100% sustainable fuel with a far greater share of electric power.
The grid expands too: Audi enters as a works manufacturer and Cadillac joins as an 11th team, while drivers chase the World Drivers' and Constructors' Championships across a global calendar from March to December 2026.
๐ Format & how it works
Two world championships
Points are scored at every Grand Prix toward the World Drivers' Championship and the World Constructors' Championship. The top ten finishers score, with the winner taking 25 points and an extra point available for the fastest lap in some seasons.
2026 technical revolution
New-for-2026 cars are smaller and lighter with active aerodynamics, while the power units split power roughly 50/50 between the internal combustion engine and electric motor, running on fully sustainable fuel.
Sprint weekends
Selected rounds feature a Saturday Sprint โ a short-format race that awards additional points and adds a second qualifying session to the weekend.
