📋 Format & how it works
Twenty20 format
Each team faces 20 overs (120 deliveries). The side scoring the most runs wins. A T20 match lasts roughly 3 hours, making it the most fast-paced and TV-friendly format of the game.
Group stage & knockouts
Teams are split into groups; the top finishers advance to the Super 4s or semifinals. Every run and wicket matters — net run rate breaks ties in the group standings.
Reading a cricket scorecard
Scores are shown as runs/wickets (overs), e.g. '145/5 (20)' means 145 runs scored, 5 wickets lost, in 20 overs. The team chasing wins if they surpass the target with wickets remaining.
