Singles draws
Both the men's and women's singles are 128-player single-elimination draws, played best-of-five sets (men) and best-of-three sets (women) over two weeks, culminating in the finals on the second weekend.
Grass-court tennis
Wimbledon is the only Grand Slam contested on grass — a fast, low-bouncing surface that rewards big serving and quick net play. A final-set tie-break at 6–6 is used to decide marathon matches.
All-white tradition
Players must wear almost entirely white attire, one of the sport's most distinctive customs, maintained by the All England Club for over a century.
