VALORANT Champions is the season-ending world championship of the VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) — the single most prestigious event in the game, where the best teams from the Americas, EMEA, Pacific and China meet to crown a world champion.
Teams qualify through a full season of international leagues and Masters events. The 2026 host city and exact dates are expected to be announced by Riot Games closer to the season; here's how the event works and who has won it before.
VALORANT Champions gathers the top teams from across the VCT season into a group stage followed by a single-elimination or double-elimination playoff bracket, ending in a best-of-five grand final.
Slots are earned through the four international leagues (Americas, EMEA, Pacific, China) and Masters results across the season — combining championship points and direct qualification.
VALORANT is a 5v5 tactical shooter where attackers try to plant the Spike while defenders prevent it; agents' unique abilities add a layer of strategy on top of precise gunplay.

Sixteen teams will chase Valorant's biggest title of the year when Champions 2026 begins September 24, running through October 18 across venues in China. Two-time winner NRG returns to defend its crown against regional qualifiers from the Americas, EMEA, Pacific, and China leagues, with the champion alone taking home $1 million of the $2.25 million purse.
