General classification
The rider with the lowest cumulative time across all stages wears the yellow jersey and, if they hold it in Paris, wins the Tour. Time gaps are decided on mountain stages and individual time trials.
Three weeks of racing
Around 21 stages — flat sprints, hilly classics, high-mountain summit finishes and time trials — run over 23 days with two rest days, traditionally finishing on the Champs-Élysées in Paris.
