Valve Says Steam Deck 2 Is Getting Closer but Still Waiting on the Right Chip

Valve engineer Pierre-Loup Griffais told IGN the company is "definitely getting there" on a Steam Deck successor, but is holding off until silicon offers a genuine generational leap in performance without sacrificing the original's battery life. He said many current handheld-class chips are really just repurposed low-end laptop silicon rather than parts built for handheld power budgets. Valve still has not committed to a release date, name or price for the follow-up hardware.
