SkyCity Entertainment Group has settled with South Australia's gambling regulator for A$21 million (about US$15 million), payable in three annual instalments, following a review that found its Adelaide casino's board failed basic governance duties through late 2021. The inquiry was led by retired judge Brian Martin, whose report criticized the company's compliance culture. As part of the deal, SkyCity Adelaide must install a CEO who reports to a local board, bring on an independent compliance auditor by June 2027, and phase out large cash transactions and junket-operator relationships.
