Encore Boston Harbor Workers Authorize Strike as Contract Expires

About 1,300 employees at Encore Boston Harbor, represented by Teamsters Local 25 and UNITE HERE Local 26, voted 1,006-53 to authorize a strike after their contract with Wynn Resorts lapsed on August 31. Workers are seeking a $10 wage increase over three years for non-tipped staff and $5 for tipped staff, and say Encore's counteroffer falls well short of that ask. The vote hands union leadership authority to call a walkout at New England's only five-star casino resort without further advance notice.
