The chase for a spot at The International 2026 in Shanghai officially got underway this week as regional qualifiers began, with China's qualifier running through June 18 and South America's through June 19. Defending champions Team Falcons headline a group of seven teams with direct invites, including Team Liquid, Tundra Esports, Aurora Gaming, Team Yandex, BetBoom Team, and Xtreme Gaming, while Europe's usually separate East and West qualifiers have been merged into a single bracket. The main event runs August 20-23 at Shanghai's Oriental Sports Center, where a Swiss-stage group phase will trim 16 teams down to the final eight.
