San Francisco-based Denmu has lined up most of the capital for a new $50 million fund aimed at backing developers with a strong creative point of view, spanning indie titles, AAA and mobile projects alike. The firm, whose team includes Diablo co-creator David Brevik, says it has evaluated hundreds of pitches and previously backed games like The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy. The fund reflects a broader push among gaming investors to bankroll distinctive, creator-led projects over purely formulaic ones.
