Riot Games announced a major overhaul of the VALORANT Champions Tour starting in 2027, replacing the franchised league model with an open, tournament-based system where any team can earn a path to Masters and Champions. The new format spans 14 regional competitions, including newly elevated spots for Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam, and partner teams will no longer get automatic byes past the opening Kickoff event. Riot is backing the change financially, guaranteeing six-figure payouts for non-partner teams that qualify for Kickoffs, Masters or Champions.
