Australia's ACMA Orders ISPs to Block 12 More Illegal Gambling Sites

Australia's media regulator ACMA directed internet providers to block 12 additional unlicensed gambling sites, including one called Pointsbetz.com that allegedly impersonated the licensed PointsBet brand. The action brings the total number of gambling and affiliate sites blocked since the crackdown began in November 2019 to 1,751, even as regulators concede that banned operators frequently resurface under new domains. More than 230 illegal services have exited the Australian market entirely since enforcement began in 2017.
