Sweden delivered their biggest World Cup scoring outburst since 1938, routing Tunisia 5-1 at Estadio Monterrey to seize control of Group F. Yasin Ayari, who has Tunisian family roots and chose not to celebrate out of respect for them, opened the scoring with a long-range strike in the sixth minute and added a second later, while Alexander Isak and Viktor Gyokeres also got on the scoresheet. The result puts Sweden top of Group F, which also includes the Netherlands and Japan.
